It is with deep sadness that the passing of Cora Anne Robinson (née Farrell) has been announced. Cora passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 6, 2026, surrounded by her loving family at Portiuncula Hospital in Ballinasloe.
Originally from Coneyboro, Athy, County Kildare, and later residing in Cornamagh, Athlone, County Westmeath, Cora was a cherished and much-loved member of her community. Her gentle nature, kindness, and devotion to her family left a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing her.
She was predeceased by her brothers Noel and Ivan, her sister Florence (Flor), and her niece Erin. Cora’s memory will be forever treasured by her devoted husband George, her beloved children Gareth and Georgina, daughter-in-law Claire, and her much-adored grandson Alex. She is also deeply mourned by her extended family, friends, and neighbours who shared in her life and friendship.
The family has expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Oncology team at Portiuncula Hospital for the exceptional care, compassion, and support shown to Cora during her final weeks.
Reposing will take place at Flynn’s Funeral Home, The Strand, Athlone, on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Removal will follow to Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, Coosan, Athlone, arriving for evening prayers at 5:00 p.m. (livestream available).
Requiem Mass will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. in St. Michael the Archangel Church, Athy, County Kildare (livestream available), followed by burial in St. Michael’s New Cemetery.
