Authorities are investigating a late-night shooting in the Fuller Park neighborhood that left three people injured, including an 18-year-old woman now fighting for her life.
According to the Chicago Police Department, the incident occurred just after midnight on Sunday in the 4600 block of South Federal Street. Officers responded to reports of gunfire and arrived to find two young women suffering from gunshot wounds outside in a residential area.
Paramedics from the Chicago Fire Department quickly provided emergency care before transporting the victims to nearby hospitals.
While officers were still securing the scene, they were alerted to a third victim who had already made his way to the University of Chicago Medical Center. The male victim, whose age has not been released, suffered a gunshot wound to the shoulder and is listed in good condition.
